JCC volleyball team spikes St. James Area; Luverne beats A/E

ST. JAMES — Emma Haren had 20 kills to help Jackson County Central to a 3-0 high school volleyball win over host St. James Area Monday night.

The Marshall Tigers, state champions in Class AAA, landed four players on the Big South Conference volleyball team for 2022.

Scores were 25-17, 25-11, 25-20.

Haren also had nine digs and was 17-for-19 serving with five aces. Peyton Hanson added seven kills. Andria Benson had seven kills and 14 digs and put 8 of 9 serves in play. Maci Farmer added 22 set assists and was 9-for-9 from the service line. And Elese Paplow was 9-for-10 serving with 19 set assists.

Luverne 3, Adrian/Ellsworth 1
ELLSWORTH — The Luverne Cardinals topped Adrian/Ellsworth in four, on scores of 25-23, 25-20, 23-25, 25-20.

For Adrian/Ellsworth, Hali Bullerman was 14-for-15 serving with two aces, and she also had 17 digs. Karly Kruse had 18 set assists. Katie Buntjer and Maddie Wagner had six and five kills, respectively. Wagner added three blocks.
