WORTHINGTON -- The Minnesota West Lady Jay softball team committed 17 errors and surrendered 14 walks in two losses Saturday to MSCTC-Fergus Falls.
In the first game, the Lady Jays (0-2) managed just two hits and one run in an 11-1 defeat.
Melanie Anderson threw all five innings for the Lady Jays, allowing nine hits and just three earned runs while striking out three.
Marie Pavelko had a hit, while Amanda Meyer had an RBI double for Minnesota West.

Rosie Lewis scored the lone run as a pinch-runner.

In the second game of the day, West was able to push across 10 runs, but committed nine errors in the 10-run loss.
After falling behind 10-3 in the fourth inning, the Lady Jays scored seven runs in the bottom of the fourth to tie the game at 10-all.
However, MSCTC-FF answered with 10 runs in the top of the fourth to take a 20-10 victory.

Anderson once again picked up the loss on the hill for Minnesota West.
Ashley DeBates had a double and a homerun for MW, and also scored twice and drove in two.
Ashley Neperman was a perfect 3-for-3 with a run and two RBI, while Lewis also had two hits, including an RBI triple.
MW will host Ridgewater today with the first pitch scheduled for 3 p.m.
