Lady Jays sweep Ridgewater

WORTHINGTON — Julia Schmoker pitched two complete five-inning games and went 4-for-4 with a home run in the second game as the Minnesota West Community and Technical College softball team defeated Ridgewater 12-4 and 22-4 at College Field.
Schmoker struck out six batters in the first game and four in the second as West evened its record at 8-8.
Emily Wilke hit three doubles on the day and drove in five runs. Grace Suttle narrowly missed a pair of home runs, slugging the ball off the top of the fence both times. Shelby Christensen also had a fine offensive day, in both hitting and base-running. She scored six runs in the doubleheader.
