AUSTIN -- Fighting through a mid-game dip in their intensity, the Minnesota West Community and Technical College volleyball team thwarted host Riverland Community College in five sets Wednesday night.

The Lady Jays won 25-10, 16-25, 26-24, 20-25 and 15-8.

"We were firing on all cylinders" in the first set, said West head coach Brittney McNab. Then, she said, "we got comfortable and complacent."

But the Jays were more than ready for the fifth set.

"The intensity was up. Everybody was clicking together," McNab said.
