Legion baseball: Luverne still perfect in Southwest Sub-State

ST. JAMES -- The Luverne American Legion baseball team won games Monday and Tuesday in the Division 2 Southwest Sub-State tournament and will play Springfield Thursday (July 26) in its next game.

ST. JAMES -- The Luverne American Legion baseball team won games Monday and Tuesday in the Division 2 Southwest Sub-State tournament and will play Springfield Thursday (July 26) in its next game.

Following a 6-4 win over Wabasso to open the tournament, Luverne defeated Minneota 7-1 on Tuesday. Springfield opened with a victory over St. James in the first round and followed that up with a 5-1 win over Windom.

Windom beat Truman 10-7 in its opener.

On Thursday in the double-elimination tourney, Windom will play Wells at 2:30 p.m. and Luverne will play Springfield at 7:30 p.m. All tournament games are in St. James.
