SIOUX CITY, Iowa -- The Worthington American Legion baseball team played third over the weekend at the Sioux City Classic.
Post 5 won its first game 8-3 over Dakota Valley, S.D., as Eric Heidebrink pitched a complete game 8-hitter, walking two and striking out one. Tucker Sorenson went 3-for-3 at the plate, Ben Rogers 2-for-2, Logan Huisman 2-for-4 and Tyler Linder 2-for-4 with a double.
Omaha Central beat Worthington 17-0 in the second game. Huisman was 2-for-2 with the bat.
Post 5 beat Lakeview, Neb.,10-7 in the third game. Braden Donkersloot pitched a complete game for Worthington and was credited with doing well while battling through defensive mistakes. Heidebrink was 4-for-4, Huisman 3-for-4 and Donkersloot 3-for-4 at the plate. Heidebrink had a double and Huisman a triple.

Worthington topped Plattsmouth, Neb., 5-1 in the next game as Sorenson pitched a complete game in excruciating heat. Huisman and Turner Rogers both had two hits. Austin Svalland tripled.
Huisman led Post 5 with nine hits and five RBIs.
