WABASSO -- Steven Kremer and Mitch Jensen each swatted solo home runs, Jensen struck out five batters in three innings, and Worthington survived a late grand slam to beat Wabasso 10-6 Monday night in an American Legion baseball game.
Jensen held Wabasso to one run and one hit before giving way to Derek Lee in the fourth inning.
Worthington had a 10-2 lead going into the bottom of the seventh -- enough of a cushion to withstand a bases-clearing shot that cut its lead in half.
Post 5 had six players with multiple hits -- Kremer (3-for-5), Jensen (2-for-5), Stuart Rogers (2-for-2), Adam Munkel (2-for-4), Derek Busswitz (2-for-5) and Ethan Duffy (2-for-4).
Worthington (10-4) hosts St. James at 7 p.m. on Thursday, then plays at home against Coon Rapids on Friday.
