Luverne atop Section 3A girls hockey seedings; Worthington sixth
Luverne is seeded No. 1 in the upcoming Section 3A girls high school hockey tournament and Worthington is seeded sixth.
The tournament begins Thursday as fifth-seeded Fairmont plays fourth-seeded Windom Area at Windom in a 7 p.m. contest, and Worthington travels to play third-seeded Marshall at the Red Baron Arena in Marshall at 7 p.m.
Luverne and second-seeded New Ulm have first-round byes.
Worthington lost twice to Marshall in the regular season on scores of 8-1 and 11-0. Luverne, 18-6 prior to Tuesday’s final regular season game scheduled against Fairmont, defeated the second-seeded Eagles twice during the regular season on identical 4-1 scores.
