ST. JAMES -- The Luverne Cardinals girls tennis team defeated Maple River 4-3 and Sibley East 5-2, and lost 6-1 to St. James Area in the St. James Doubles Tournament on Wednesday.
Cardinals Hanna Ehlers and Kristin Rud went 3-0 at No. 6 doubles. Turning in 2-1 records were Jacey Smith and Olivia Wieneke at No. 4, Hope Thorson and Alexa Chesley at No. 7 and Katharine Kelm and Rylee Anderson at No. 8.
St. James Area won all three of its matches.
