MARSHALL -- The top seed beat the eighth seed in the Junior Legion district playoffs on Wednesday, as Marshall upended Worthington 11-5.

Marshall entered the game with a glittering 18-4-2 record, but despite the fact that Worthington trailed 7-0 on Wednesday, the underdogs fought hard to make a mini-comeback.

Worthington left the bases loaded in the second inning, however, delaying their comeback bid. Marshall had scored three runs in the first. But Worthington didn't give up, plating several runs to cut the margin to 7-5.
