Minneota, Pipestone Area win section volleyball crowns

Minneota in Section 3A and Pipestone Area in Section 3AA captured high school volleyball championships Saturday and earned the right to compete in the state tournament

MARSHALL — Minneota defeated Russell-Tyler-Ruthton in five sets for the Section 3A volleyball championship Saturday in Marshall, and Pipestone Area went three sets to subdue Paynesville Area for the Section 3AA crown.
Competing at Southwest Minnesota State University, Minneota downed R-T-R 21-25, 25-21, 25-21, 24-26, 15-6 to advance. Pipestone Area won its match 25-12, 25-17, 25-17.
The Vikings and the Arrows will participate in the state tournament Nov. 9-12 at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.
