WORTHINGTON -- Postseason college football is just around the corner, and Minnesota West’s road game with Itasca today (Saturday) comes as the Bluejays are one of four teams with identical 2-3 divisional records.

West, 2-4 overall, upset nationally-ranked Rochester Community College 21-17 in Worthington two weeks ago to put itself in a strong playoff position, but last weekend’s 24-14 loss to Vermilion put today’s game in stark relief. Itasca is 5-1 overall, coming off a 69-21 shellacking of Mesabi Range that saw the Vikings accumulate 561 yards of total offense -- 302 rushing and 259 through the air.

The Bluejays played well in all phases of the game against the Yellowjackets, but the offense struggled against the Ironmen.

Minnesota West has two regular season games remaining. After Itasca, the Jays host MState-Fergus Falls on Oct. 16.
