OKABENA – An eighth inning run scoring explosion pushed Mountain Lake Area/Comfrey to victory over home team Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda.

The Coyotes committed 11 errors in the game, and too many errors in the top of the eighth turned a leaky faucet into a raging open floodgate.

The Coyotes scored four runs in the first, 2 in the second, one in the fourth and two in the sixth to tie the game up at nine.

HL-O/F had a strong opportunity to add another late run to complete the game in regulation innings. They had a runner on second with one out and the top of the order to bat. But the Wolverines solved the jam and kept the Coyotes from scoring.

Sam Goedtke had two hits for HLO/F, Dillon Smith had two hits and two runs. Nolan Madsen scored two RBIs on a single.

Simon Spittle started on the mound for the Coyotes and pitched four innings. Tyler Dick was credited with the win on the mound for the Wolverines. Sam Pidde had three hits, Ashton Toll had two hits and two RBIs. Alex Karsnick had two hits.
