Girls basketball
SW Christian 69, R-T-R 56
TYLER — A solid team effort helped the Southwest Minnesota Christian girls basketball team defeat host Russell-Tyler-Ruthton on Monday, 69-56.
Ana Veldkamp scored 18 points for the Eagles. Madyson Fey had 15 points. Jocelyn Barron scored 12, with nine rebounds. Makenna Moss had 5 points and 12 rebounds. Mackenzie Pap had four assists. And Lindsie Fick had four steals.
Boys basketball
R-T-R 67, MCC 40
SLAYTON — Aidan Wichman and Drew Workman scored 17 and 16 points, respectively, as Russell-Tyler-Ruthton's boys basketball team outplayed Murray County Central by 27.
Bryce Hoekman had 12 points and five rebounds for MCC.
R-T-R converted 47 percent of its field goals into points, and made six of 18 3-point shots. MCC hit just 31 percent of its field goals, two of 18 3-point tries, and four of 18 free throws.
