More sports postponements on Thursday

Another day, another round of sports postponements.

Blowing and drifting snow on Thursday moved back the Section 3AA and Section 3A team wrestling tournaments, and also wrecked other scheduled games in other sports.

Boys and girls basketball and hockey events were also postponed or canceled, including the Windom Area at Worthington boys hockey event, which has been moved to Saturday at 7 p.m. Also postponed was the Worthington at Southwest Christian girls and boys basketball games. The girls game is canceled. The boys game is moved to Saturday.

The 3AA and 3A team wrestling tournaments will now be started and completed on Saturday.

The Section 3AA will be entirely in Worthington. Dawson-Boyd/Lac qui Parle Valley-Montevideo will square off against New London-Spicer at 11 a.m., and Luverne will wrestling Fulda/Murray County Central also at 11 a.m. In the quarterfinal round, Marshall will compete against D-B/LQPV-M or NL-S at 2:15 p.m. Redwood-River Valley goes against MAHACA at 1:30 p.m., Fairmont/Martin County West takes on Luverne or F/MCC at 1:30 p.m., and Worthington contends with New Ulm Area at 1:30 p.m.

Semifinals are at 3:30 p.m. The finals are at 5 p.m.

The Section 3A meet is at Tracy. Pipestone Area and Adrian compete at 11 a.m. for the right to face Tracy-Milroy-Balaton/Westbrook-Walnut Grove at 12:15 p.m. Other 12:15 p.m. quarterfinals have Wabasso/Red Rock Central against Minneota, Windom/Mountain Lake against St. James Area, and Jackson County Central against Canby.

Semifinals and finals will follow at 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.
