MW VOLLEYBALL: Lady Jays fall in road match

ROCHESTER -- The Minnesota West Lady Jays' volleyball team traveled across the state for a match Friday night and were greeted by rude hosts, the Yellowjackets of Rocheseter Community College, who swept the match by scores of 25-15, 25-16 and 25-18.

The Lady Jays did receive nice service nights from Sarah Suby (7-for-7), Katherine Kazemba (8-for-8) and Michaela Wolff (7-for-8 with two ace serves).

Kazemba and Suby had 11 and eight digs, respectively, while Kayla Vander Veen also added eight digs.

Wolff led MW with 12 set assists.

Up front, Kelsey Wolthuizen recorded a trio of blocks with one being an ace block and Kristina Skorepa had five blocks to go with 14 hits and seven kills.

Wolthuizen tallied 11 hits and four kills for the Lady Jays, who host Anoka-Ramsey Wednesday.
