MARSHALL -- Pipestone Area's volleyball team stormed back from a nine-point first-game deficit Friday night en route to a 25-23, 25-17, 25-23 sweep against New Ulm in the first round of the Section 3AA tournament.
The Arrows, who took their first lead of the match at 24-23 in Game 1, will face top-seeded Marshall on Tuesday in Redwood Falls.
Jeena Lentz had 14 set assists, and Amber Haupert added 12 set assists and three ace serves on 14-for-15 serving. Megan VanderPoel had 13 kills and three solo blocks, and Brooke Woelber had 10 kills.
Sam Bloemendahl had 14 digs, and Emily Aaland had 12 for the Arrows, who also came back from a big deficit to win the third game.
