WORTHINGTON — The Worthington Trojans held their annual ‘Meet the Trojans Night’ after a 22-0 conference loss to New Ulm on Thursday.

The Trojans also provided a pregame senior sendoff for seniors Lauren Nelson, Presley Sieve and Kiana Palma.

The Trojans scored leadoff hits in both the first and second inning. But truly today belonged to the Eagles scoring runs in all four innings.

The Eagles batted around the order in the first inning and scored seven runs in the process.

New Ulm hit the ball well and had two home runs slam off the bats of Mackenzie Enter and Ramsey Hopp.

Bailey Ponto pitched the first three innings for WHS. Abigail Linder pitched the final two in relief. Shortstop Hannah McNab made several rangy plays defensively.

The Trojans played a doubleheader earlier this week on Tuesday against Fairmont. The Trojans lost both games by scores of 10-0, 15-4.

WHS returns to the diamond on Saturday. The Trojans will be playing in a tournament hosted by Jackson County Central in Jackson, Minnesota.
