Pipestone rallies to edge Cubs, 8-7

PIPESTONE — The host Pipestone A's rallied from a 5-0 deficit to defeat the Worthington Cubs 8-7 in an amateur baseball game Wednesday night.
Worthington scored four first-inning runs and led 5-0 in the third inning. But Pipestone plated five in the bottom of the third. Worthington scored twice in the fourth to re-take the lead, but the A's scored the final three runs — the last one coming in the bottom of the seventh.
Kent Lais doubled for Worthington, with two walks and two runs scored. Tate Gaul scored two runs and Logan Huisman scored one. Tyler Linder went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs and two runs for the Cubs.
Lais pitched six innings for the visitors. Gaul hurled two innings and was charged with the loss.
