Prep baseball: Luverne moves to 15-0

LUVERNE -- The Luverne High School baseball team advanced to 15-0 on the spring season Saturday with 11-1 and 10-0 victories over visiting St. James Area.

LUVERNE -- The Luverne High School baseball team advanced to 15-0 on the spring season Saturday with 11-1 and 10-0 victories over visiting St. James Area.

The Cardinals used strong pitching performances in both games. Derek Lundgren pitched a complete five-inning game in the opener, checking the Saints on five hits. In the second game, Tyler Reisdorfer pitched the first five and Jake Haugen hurled the last inning to keep the Saints off the board.

Isaiah Bartels hit a two-run double in the third inning of the first game and Jaxon Nelson slugged a double.

In the nightcap, Lundgren and Bartels each had two hits.
