FULDA - Zach Holt racked up 272 yards from scrimmage and scored three touchdowns, while Todd Peterson passed for 307 yards and three touchdowns as the Fulda Raiders celebrated Homecoming with a 52-8 Southern Confederacy win over Renville County West Friday night.
Holt rushed 18 times for 132 yards and caught five passes for 140 yards. The senior back opened the scoring with a 78-yard catch from Peterson (Mason Trejo 2-point).
Following a 31-yard TD pass from Peterson to John Getting (Getting 2-point), Holt found pay dirt on a one-yard run. Peterson ran in the conversion to extend the host's lead to 24-0 after a frame.
Peterson (17-for-21 passing, 12 carries for 38 yards) pushed Fulda's lead to 32-0 with an eight-yard touchdown run (Holt 2-point conversion) before RCW got on the board with its lone score of the game.
Fulda did all of the second-half scoring as Trevor Ruesch (two catches for 27 yards) scored on a one-yard run (PAT failed) and Holt crossed the goal line for the third time with a four-yard run and also added the 2-point conversion.

Getting finished the scoring in the fourth quarter when he caught his second TD pass of the night from Peterson.
John Getting had five catches for 83 yards, while Trejo and Nathan Getting each caught three passes as Peterson distributed the ball well to his receivers.
Defensively, Fulda forced RCW into seven turnovers as the Raiders hauled in six interceptions and recovered one fumble.
Nathan Getting (four solos, six assists) and Brock Burchill each had two picks for the Raiders, while John Getting (six assists) had one interception and also had a touchdown-saving pass deflection.
Ruesch (two solos, four assists) had the fumble recovery and also intercepted a pass, while Holt had six tackles and Matthew Thier and Trejo each compiled a solo tackle and eight assists each.
Fulda, winners of two straight, improve to 2-2 and travel to Hills-Beaver Creek Friday.

ALDEN - Dalton Bass and Tate Bork each rushed for over 100 yards, while Dylan Gehrke was nearly perfect passing the ball as the Hills-Beaver Creek Patriots ran roughshod over Alden-Conger in the Southern Confederacy Conference Friday night.
Dalton Bass ran 10 times for 181 and Tate Bork rushed four times for 117 yards. Bork opened the game's scoring on the Patriots first play from scrimmage with a 90-yard run to pay dirt, while Bass had a pair of TD runs (23 yards and 53 yards).
Gehrke misfired on just one pass as he finished 10-for-11 for 107 yards and four TD passes.
Jeff Sandbulte caught two of Gehrke's passes for scores (25 yards and six yards), while Carey Taubert and Braden Ellingson had touchdown catches of 20- and 30-yards, respectively.
H-BC (4-0, 4-0), which rushed 20 times for 339 yards and held A-C to 35 rushing yards and 169 passing yards, received a defensive touchdown from Sandbulte on a 23-yard interception return, while the Patriot defense recorded eight quarterback sacks with Nathan Taubert, Bork, Caleb Vis and Jared Lingen each recorded two sacks apiece. Ellingson also intercepted a pass for the visitors.
The Patriots host Fulda Friday.

EDGERTON -- The Edgerton/Ellsworth Flying Dutchmen defeated the Westbrook-Walnut Grove Chargers 70-16 in a football game Friday night in Edgerton.
Isaac Heard led the Dutchmen with 197 passing yards (8-for-9) and passing five TDs, while the Dutchmen offense was able to churn out 287 rushing yards. Austin Lafollette had two TDs and 96 yards on three carries, with teammates Devin Hulstein (58 yards, rec. TD) and Jake Post (55 yards, TD) pitching in.
Heard's TDs included a 15-yard and 32-yard pass to Blake Jouwstra, a three-yard pass to Derek Voge, a 19-yard pass to Hulstein and a 63-yard bomb to A.J. Ciaburri. The Dutchmen rounded out their scoring on a 61-yard kick-off return to open up the second half by Jorge Lopez.
Chargers Qb John Elzenga was 14-for-22 threw the air for 164 yards and two TDs, but W-WG was held to just 42 rushing yards on 29 attempts by the E/E defense.
Voge had eight solo tackles for the Dutchmen defense.
W-WG heads to Mountain Lake Area to take on the Wolverines Friday and E/E hosts Southwestern United.

HERON LAKE --Racking up over 300 yards of offense in the first half, Mountain Lake Area opened leads of 22-0 and 42-0 after the first two quarters and claimed a convincing victory over Southwestern United.
The Wolverines rushed the ball 12 times for 121 yards prior to intermission and Carter Kirk completed 10 of 13 passes for 190 yards, including a trio of touchdown strikes.
MLA (3-1) did not throw a pass in the second half, but did gain another 109 yards on the ground (12 carries) to finish the game with 420 total yards.
"Our offensive line did a nice job, opening up some good holes for our backs," praised MLA head coach Tim Kirk about the play of Josh Grev, Chris Heffele, Vince Johnson and Josiah Stoesz.
DeMar Rodney (five carries for 96 yards) and Ryan Klassen (six carries for 80 yards) did the bulk of the rushing for the Wolverines, while Levi Kass (83 yards) and Klassen (19 yards) each caught three of Carter Kirk's passes.

Sophomore linebacker Jacob Junker had a team-leading 12 tackles for MLA, which capitalized on four turnovers in the contest.
Spencer Harder intercepted a pass in the second quarter and returned the pick 38 yards for one of the Wolverines' defensive highlights, while Klassen also intercepted a pass and both Stoesz and Kirk recovered fumbles.
After a 31-yard kick return by Jose Gonzales, Klassen ripped off a 48-yard touchdown run on MLA's first play from scrimmage.
Four minutes into the first quarter, the Wolverines scored again as Kirk capped a drive with a two-yard run and then passed to Stoesz for the two-point conversion.
Carter connected with Gonzales on a 25-yard touchdown pass and then ran in for the two-pointer, giving MLA a 22-0 lead late in the first period.
In the second quarter, the Wolverines scored three mores times, as Eric Wenner broke loose on a 41-yard touchdown run and Kass crossed the goal line twice --first on a dazzling 19-yard scamper and later on a 61-yard TD pass from Kirk.
Rodney darted in for the two-point conversion after Kass' first six-pointer.
MLA increased its lead to 50-0 midway through the third quarter when Rodney rambled 74 yards for a touchdown and Harder rushed for the conversion.

"Kass scored two touchdowns and five others scored one," noted Coach Kirk, who liked his team's balanced performance. "We're really pleased with how well Klassen is running the ball, giving us another good option."
Kurt Schmitz scored SWU's touchdown, capping a Wildcat drive with a three-yard burst in the fourth quarter.
A 22-yard pass completion from Justin Jass to Erik Jass and a couple of long runs by Schmitz helped sustain that scoring drive.
Matt Soto had several fine punts, including a 42-yarder, for the Wildcats (1-3) who play Edgerton/Ellsworth at Ellsworth Friday night.
MLA hosts Westbrook-Walnut Grove the same evening.
