EDGERTON - Southwest Minnesota Christian got a balanced offensive attack to defeat its cross-town rival Tuesday evening.
In a game hosted by the Eagles, three players scored in double figures for both the home team and Edgerton Public. SWC maintained a seven-to-11 point lead most of the way, but pulled away at the end for a 63-47 Red Rock Conference triumph.
Ann Pater and Mariah Talsma both finished with 13 points for the Eagles. The latter of those two had six rebounds. Emily Nerem tallied 10 points and dished out five assists with Brooklyn DeKam adding nine points.
For the Flying Dutchmen, Jenny Nelson put up a team-high 13 points. Jillian Vander Steen and Liz Buckridge added 10 each while Mia Wassink had nine points and 10 boards.
SWC (3-0 overall) is at Luverne on Thursday. Edgerton (0-2 overall) takes on Ellsworth on Friday.

WESTBROOK - Signey Stoesz had a monster game Tuesday.
The senior poured in 36 points to go with 13 rebounds. That led Mountain Lake Area to a 64-52 victory over Westbrook-Walnut Grove.
Chanah Brandt added nine points for the Wolverines with Liana Blomgren notching eight points and 13 boards.
Cassidy Mischke led the Chargers’ effort with 14 points.
MLA (2-1 overall) is at home against Adrian on Friday while W-WG (2-2 overall) is at Heron Lake-Okabena the same evening.

H-BC 62, Adrian 46
ADRIAN - Hills-Beaver Creek led from wire to wire Tuesday in a 62-46 Red Rock Conference victory over Adrian.
The Dragons were within striking distance at halftime, down 26-17. The Patriots continued to apply pressure, however, and took a 62-46 win.
Avery Van Roekel had a strong showing for H-BC with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Sidney Fick and Grace Bundesen scored 13 and 10, respectively. Jasmine Lingen passed out five assists.
Jodi Bents had 12 points and eight rebounds to lead the Dragons. Kaitlyn Christians had three assists.
Adrian (1-2 overall) is at Mountain Lake Area on Friday with Hills-Beaver Creek (2-0 overall) hosting also unbeaten Southwest Minnesota Christian on Friday.

HL-O 74, Ellsworth 27
ELLSWORTH - Heron Lake-Okabena put together a dominant showing on the road Tuesday, beating Red Rock Conference foe Ellsworth, 74-27.
The Panthers had a rough night shooting the ball, finishing at 25 percent.
Gabi Stenzel led the Wildcats’ attack with 19 points while Megan Haberman and Andrew Hinkeldey tallied 14 and 10, respectively. Hannah Kramer and Devin Dreesen paced the Panthers with seven points each.
HL-O (2-0 overall) hosts Westbrook-Walnut Grove on Friday. Ellsworth (0-3 overall) is also in action on Friday when it travels to Edgerton.
