MANKATO -- In what shaped up to be a defensive game, Byron was able to sneak in three goals Saturday, claiming a 3-0 victory over Worthington in a girls' soccer game.
"In the second half, we were moving the ball better and had a few good looks at it," WHS head coach Smitty Ektnitphong said. "I know Whitney Coriolan had a really good shot from 20 yards out."
The Trojans had four shots on goal, while Byron had nine.
"Byron is a really good team and they are disciplined defensively," Ektnitphong said. "The whole team played well and it was much improved from the Albert Lea game and Willmar."
Worthington will host Fairmont tonight.
