WESTBROOK -- Isaiah Schmid of Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda and Madison Martin of Westbrook-Walnut Grove earned medalist honors Monday at a high school golf triangular in Westbrook. Schmid won the boys event with a nine-hole total of 45 strokes, and Martin won on the girls side with a 55.
HL-O/F carded a team boys total of 195 strokes while Red Rock Central had 199 and W-WG 217. For the girls, W-WG totaled 225 to RRC's 286. HL-O/F was incomplete.
Jaxson Tiesler had 47 and Sawyer Drent 48 to pace the HL-O/F boys. Nathan Kuehl and Hunter Lien both had 47 for W-WG. Damian Osland and Mason Gode led RRC with 48s.
The W-WG girls got 56s from Lexi Herding and Emma Wahl. Maddy Koep had a 56 for HL-O/F, and Carlee Sell led RRC with a 59.
