Prep gymnastics: Jackson County Central wins close one

WELCOME - Jackson County Central faced its toughest test of the young season Monday and came out on top.
The Huskies defeated Martin County Area by a narrow 139.45-137.3 final score, giving them an undefeated 5-0 record heading into the break.
JCC’s win came despite an incredible performance by Stars’ junior Bryanna Peterson. She tallied a 36.225 to win the all-around with event wins on the bars (9.25) and the balance beam (9.4).
Abby Schneekloth won the vault with a 9.45 and finished second in the all-around at 9.45 for the Huskies. She was also third on the bars (8.625).
Haley Bass took second in three events for JCC. She was silver on the vault (9.05), the bars (8.65) and the beam (8.55). Brooklyn Schuett won the floor exercise with a 9.4 and took third on the vault (9.025).
Sophie Johnson (8.5, beam) and Hailey Handevidt (9.125 floor) also took third for JCC.
