LUVERNE -- Luverne's girls' hockey team earned its first win of the season in dominating fashion, dropping Sioux Falls Blue 11-1 on Saturday.
The Cardinals rattled off 64 shots on goal in the victory.
Luverne's goalie Elizabeth Goldie, meanwhile, defended only three attempts -- saving two of them.
Forward Mikki Fitzer led the way for the Cardinals' offensive attack, scoring three goals.
Kat Dahl and Katie Eeten each added two goals and an assist.

Ellen Dahl scored once and dished out four assists, while Kristen Riesdorfer and Morgan Sommers both had two assists and a goal for Luverne.
The remaining Cardinal goal belonged to Lauren Christensen.
Luverne (1-1-0) will play next against Windom on Tuesday.

KASSON -- Playing shorthanded, the Worthington girls' hockey team was unable to find the net against Dodge County in a 14-0 loss.
The Trojans (0-2-0) will get a week-and-a-half long break before taking to the ice again Dec. 1 against Marshall.
