Here's a roundup of Monday's prep action:

 

Baseball JCC 9, HLO/F 7

JACKSON -- In a tight non-conference game, Jackson County Central rallied from an early deficit to take the victory.

Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda led 3-0 after the first inning, but four runs in the bottom of the second helped propel the Huskies to the victory.

Alex Bretzman had a double for JCC, but walked four times, stole a base and drove in two runs. Parker Jorgensen had two hits, including a double, and drove in a run, while Eli Edlin had a hit and scored a run. Zach Neal was 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored, and Dalton Henning had a hit, scored twice, stole a base and drove in a run.

The Coyotes were led by Eli Becker’s two hits and two runs. Eli Fest drew two walks and scored twice, while Andrew Madsen had a hit and scored a run.

Windom Area 13, LCWM 3

WINDOM -- Kobe Lovell was 3-for-4 with three runs and drove in four runs to lead Windom Area over Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial.

Kade Sammons added two hits and drove in three runs for the Eagles, while Eric Pfeffer had two hits and scored twice. Connor Redman had two hits and scored twice, while Alex Borsgard had two runs scored. Andrew Quiring was also plated twice.

Sammons started on the hill and struck out six in three innings, and Lovell came on in relief in the final two innings.

MLA/C 10, St. Clair 0

MOUNTAIN LAKE -- Drake Harder and Brent Willaby each had three hits and Regan Syverson added two more as Mountain Lake Area/Comfrey defeated St. Clair.

Zach Spinks led the Wolverines on the hill. He threw four innings, allowed no runs on two hits and struck out seven.

Golf Adrian Triangular

ADRIAN -- In a three-team meet, the Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda boys earned a 20-stroke victory. However, the girls competition came down to one stroke.

Adrian had a 211, while the Coyotes finished with a 212.

HL-O/F’s Corey Renneke was the medalist with a 40, while Payton Marquardt finished with a 43. Ethan Koep had a 45, and Tyler Madison and Isaiah Schmid each scored a 46.

The Adrian boys were led by Brock Hennings’ 45. Easton Braun scored a 47, Landon Runia had a 48 and Logan Nogosek shot a 54.

Southwest Christian/Edgerton was led by Derek Fey’s 48. Trey Huisken and Josh Kreun each shot a 49.  

The Adrian girls were paced by the medalist round of 48 from Madelyn Odell. Gracia Elias and Taya Elias each had a 54, and Madeline Wagner scored a 55.

Meakin Bang had a 50 for the Coyotes, while Elly Bang carded a 52 and Sam Freking had a 54.

Brielle Vis had a 60 for the SWC/EHS girls.

 

Fairmont at JCC

JACKSON -- Jackson County Central and Fairmont split a golf meet at the Jackson Golf Club.

The JCC boys won 175-179, while the Cardinal girls were victorious, 187-213.

For the boys, Jack Brinkman led the Huskies with a 41. Carter Olson scored a 44, while Austin Haar and Alec Kocak each scored a 45.

The JCC girls were led by Regan Farmer, Sydney Sadusky and Megan Gallagher. They each shot a 54. Neleh Hash had a 54.

Farimont’s Bergen Senf was the medalist with a 37.

 

Softball Windom Area 15, Springfield 0

WINDOM -- Ellie Maricle threw a one-hit shutout and the Windom Area offense did the rest in a victory.

Maricle allowed one hit and struck out nine in four innings.

Offensively, Reegan Elder had two hits, including a double, and drove in two runs. Shelby Erickson had two hits. Kendyl Sammons had a hit and drove in four runs.

MLA/C 9, St. Clair/Loyola 3

  1. CLAIR -- Mountain Lake Area/Comfrey pounded out 13 hits in a victory over St. Clair/Loyola.

Molly Carnell had two hits and drove in two runs, while Brooke Naas had two hits and drove in two. Lexi Toll had two hits, while Rylie Tollafson and Taylor Naas each had two hits.
Carnell earned the victory; she allowed two earned runs on five hits and struck out nine.

St. Clair/L 002 100 0 -- 3 5 4

 

JCC 14-4, MCW 5-5

JACKSON -- Jackson County Central split a doubleheader with Martin County West on Saturday.

The Huskies dominated the first game, 14-5, before Martin County West took the nightcap in eight innings, 5-4.

In the first game, JCC had 19 hits, led by Blaney Johnson, who was 5-for-5 with four RBIs. Keylee Rossow was 3-for-4 with three RBI, while Mady Hamlett had three hits and scored three times. Abagail Turner had two hits and scored three times, while Mackenzie Moss had two hits and crossed the plate four times.

In the nightcap, JCC had just six hits, but was hurt by six errors.

Jordan Schneekloth had a hit and drove in a run to lead the JCC offense.
