PREP SOFTBALL: Edgerton, RRC/W-WG each have 5 named to all-conference team

WORTHINGTON -- Edgerton and Red Rock Central/Westbrook-Walnut Grove each had five members selected to the 2010 all-Red Rock Conference softball team, which was recently released.

WORTHINGTON -- Edgerton and Red Rock Central/Westbrook-Walnut Grove each had five members selected to the 2010 all-Red Rock Conference softball team, which was recently released.

Edgerton, which finished 9-1 in the conference, had Breanna VanDyke, Hailey Van Kley, Alyssa Claar, Alyson Drooger and Macy Butson each selected as first-teamers.

Kelsey Wolthuizen and Emily Sluis were each honorable mention selections for the Flying Dutchmen.

RRC/W-WG, which also finished 9-1 in the conference, had Nichole Schroeder, Steph Maras, Klarissa Larsen, Yvonne Wani and Kelsey Pankonin on the first team.

Ashley Sell and Kali Davis were honorable mentions for the Falcons.

Murray County Central's Elissa Reinsma, Makenzie Giese and Abby Van Meveren were on the first team, while Taylor Schreier, Meghan Hartle and Ashley Clarke were honorable mentions from the Rebel team that finished 5-5 in the conference.

Mountain Lake/Butterfield-Odin's Shelby Peterson and Macy Svalland were first-team selections, while McKenzie Hopwood and Casey Rettke were HM.

Adrian Area's Sam Meester and Rachel Kontz were on the first team, while Dragons Darian Herman and Kayla Lonneman were honorable mentions.

Sophomore Connor DeWall was a first-team selection from Southwestern United, while eighth-grader Rebecca Kazemba was an honorable mention.
