Prep softball: Evans leads Pipestone Area to 13-0

PIPESTONE - Tiffany Evans homered in each game as Pipestone Area beat Luverne 8-0 and 14-1 in a softball doubleheader on Thursday.
Evans, who was the winning pitcher in the second game, helped the Arrows advance to 13-0 on the season.
Shelby Bloemendaal took the pitching win in Game One, shutting out the Cardinals through seven innings on four hits.
Evans cracked a two-run homer in the opener. Rachel Skyberg and Taylor Nesvold were both was 2-for-2.
Katie Kracht had two hits for Luverne.
In the second game, Evans hit another two-run homer. Bloemendaal and Nesvold had three hits apiece while Tarryn Woelber and Kristen Houg each had two.
Makayla Huisman hit a home run for Luverne.
Riley Olson and Ariel DeBeer were the losing pitchers.

EDGERTON - Five Edgerton/Southwest Christian Flying Dutchmen collected multiple hits in a 13-1 five-inning win over visiting Adrian.
Jaidyn Henstra was 3-for-3 at the plate. Jordyn Smidt, Liz Buckridge, Emily Nerem and Kailyn Jasper each had two hits. Smidt drove in three runs while Buckridge, Nerem and Jasper each drove in two.
Buckridge pitched the full five innings, allowing only one hit - a Devin Dreesen home run in the fourth inning - while walking nobody and striking out eight batters.
Dreesen also went the distance on the pitcher’s rubber. She struck out two.
With the win, E/SWC evens its record at 6-6.

SANBORN - Megan Haberman had three hits, a home run and three RBIs as Heron Lake-Okabena drilled Red Rock Central/Westbrook-Walnut Grove.
Sam Obermoller also homered and had two hits and three RBIs. Ida Rogers-Fergusen and Tessla Crowell each added two hits for HL-O.
Rogers-Fergusen pitched the complete game, walking no one and striking out 10. Hannah Stevenson took the loss for RRC/WWG.
Anna Hagen drove in the only run for the home team.

MOUNTAIN LAKE - Riley Tollefson hit a home run and drove in three runs as Mountain Lake Area edged Murray County Central, 10-9. The Wolverines led at one point, 10-5.
Signey Stoesz and Margo Stoesz each had a pair of hits for Mountain Lake Area.
