ELLSWORTH -- It took five sets, but the Ellsworth Panthers earned a 3-2 victory over Henricks in a Friday night high school volleyball match.
The Panthers won the first set, 29-27, before falling in the next two, 25-15 and 25-12. However, EHS won the fourth game, 25-22 to force a match-deciding fifth. In that final set, the Panthers took care of business in a 15-3 victory.
Devin Dreesen had 10 kills for the Panthers, while Ashlyn Meester had six kills and three ace serves. Morgan Dreesen had two ace serves and a block, while Kallie Chapa and Sierra Smith each recorded seven kills and an ace serve.
The Panthers are at Red Rock Central on Monday.

T-M-B wins twice APPLE VALLEY -- Tracy-Milroy-Balaton won twice in the opening day of the Apple Valley Invitational.
In the first round, T-M-B defeated Zumbrota-Mazeppa 25-16, 25-12.
Sydney Lanoue had 16 kills, while Sidney Karbo added five kills and two ace serves and Evelyn Dolan had four kills and two ace serves. Cassidy Smith had two ace serves, 28 set assists and 11 digs for the Panthers. Kaylee Kirk had a team-best 14 digs.
In the quarterfinal match, T-M-B defeated Minneapolis Southwest 25-14, 25-14.
Lanoue had nine kills and 10 digs, while Dolan had four kills. Smith led the Panthers with 17 set assists and four ace serves. Kirk and Smith each had five digs. Dolan and Catherine Wendland each had three blocks.
