ELLSWORTH -- Ellsworth earned a hard-fought, five-set victory on its home floor Friday night.

The Panthers and Hendricks traded wins back and forth, with the first two games needing extra points to be decided. For Ellsworth, the trend of winning the even-numbered games continued when it finished off the win in the fifth.

The home team opened with a 27-25 win but the Grizzlies evend things up with a 30-28 marathon win in the second. The Panthers went back up with a 25-18 victory, but again Hendricks retaliated in 25-14 fashion. Finally, the home team finished them off with a 15-10 win.

Madyson Domeyer finished the night with four aces while Devin Dreesen and Hannah Kramer added three each. Megan Popkes slammed five kills and finished with six blocks.

The Panthers are back in action tonight against Murray County Central.
