PREP VOLLEYBALL ROUNDUP: Chargers sweep Raiders

WESTBROOK -- The Westbrook-Walnut Grove Chargers swept the Fulda Raiders 25-22, 25-12 and 25-9 in a volleyball match Tuesday.

Dayna Comnick (17-for-19 serving) had four aces and seven kills to lead the Chargers, while Hailey Osland (13-for-13) added an ace to go along with six kills and three solo blocks. Madison Takle (10-for-11) picked up four aces with Paige Erickson leading the team in kills with 10 along with six digs.

Kelsi Wahl had six kills, while Alexa Byers added six digs and Abby Herding picked up 23 set assists and four digs for W-WG.

Rachel Cheadle led the Raiders with 12 kills and three blocks, while Dani Hermeling had nine set assists. Mallory Pagel (nine-for-nine) added an ace on the serve with Brittney Hermeling (eight-for-eight) had two aces and seven digs. Randi Tiesler had another seven digs for the Raiders.

W-WG travels to Adrian Thursday and Fulda heads to Red Rock Central.

H-BC 3, Ellsworth 0

HILLS -- The Hills-Beaver Creek Patriots swept the Ellsworth Panthers 25-13, 25-12 and 25-22 in a volleyball match Tuesday.

Hattie Van Wyhe led the Patriots in digs with 12, while Haley Van Wyhe was 15-for-17 on the serve with four aces and three kills. Kelli Esselink (11-for-12) had four aces.

Leah Werner had eight digs for the Panthers, while Alexa Huisman picked up six digs. Paige Meester and Hannah Mulder had one block each with Bridget Kramer picking up seven set assists. Danielle DeBeer had four aces and six kills.

Ellsworth hosts Red Rock Central Thursday and H-BC hosts Mountain Lake Area Thursday.

SWC 3, Edgerton 0

EDGERTON -- The Southwest Christian Eagles won their match against the Edgerton Flying Dutchmen 25-10, 25-12 and 25-11 in a volleyball match Tuesday.

Morgan Van Hulzen led the team with nine kills and three blocks along with going 14-for-14 on the serve with three aces for the Eagles. Jasmin Kruisselbrink picked up three aces and Amber Pater had seven kills. Tianna Top picked up two blocks and Shelby Klarenbeek led the team in digs with 13. Hannah Van Dyke had 14 set assists.

Jessica Menning (five-for-five) had four kills to lead the Dutchmen, while Tara DeKam (five-for-five) had three blocks. Sarah Post had three kills, 14 digs and two blocks for Edgerton and Amanda Schaap picked up seven set assists.

SWC (10-5-1, 5-0) hosts Southwestern United Thursday and Edgerton travels to Murray County Central Thursday.

RRC 3, Adrian 0

JEFFERS -- The Red Rock Central Falcons swept the Adrian Dragons 25-17, 25-18 and 25-15 in a volleyball match Tuesday.

Chloe Arfsten (12-for-12) had two aces, eight kills and 11 digs, while Fern Engen added six kills and two blocks for the Falcons. Mikaela Smith (21-for-22) had six aces and Katie Larsen had five kills. Brooke Rasmussen picked up 13 digs and Tegan Derickson had seven digs and 16 set assists.

Carly Wolf (eight-for-eight) had one ace for the Dragons, while Courtney Vaske had four kills, 10 digs and four blocks. Rachel Kontz had 14 set assists with Kayla Lonneman picking up four kills.

RRC travels to Ellsworth Thursday and Adrian plays Westbrook-Walnut Grove Thursday at home.

MCC 3, MLA 1

SLAYTON -- The Murray County Central Rebels beat the Mountain Lake Area Wolverines 25-18, 28-30, 25-21 and 25-18 in a volleyball match Tuesday.

Kristi Bose had eight kills and three blocks, while Jade Giese had 11 set assists and 12 digs for the Rebels. Hannah Schmidt had 23 digs and Taylor Schreier had five aces and six kills.

Paige Brown (22-for-22) had one ace, while Mikayla Falk had nine kills and Briana Wolff had eight for the Wolverines. Janessa Peters (21 kills) had four blocks and Jordan Syverson had three. Rachel Dukes had 26 set assists in the game.

MCC hosts Edgerton Thursday and MLA heads to Hills-Beaver Creek.

SWU 3, H-LP 2

ROUND LAKE -- The Southwestern United Wildcats beat the Harris-Lake Park Wolves 24-26, 17-25, 27-25, 25-14 and 15-9 in a volleyball match Tuesday.

Noreen Morrow led the Wolves with 16 kills and Miranda Brueggeman had seven kills and 17 digs. Grace Winter was 17-for-17 on the serve with four aces and Macy Gunderson picked up 14 digs and 25 set assists.

Courtney Place led the Wildcats with 19 kills and 17 digs, while Alyssa Hendrickson picked up eight more kills and nine blocks. Mandy Henkels (17-for-18) had two aces and 34 set assists with Andreah Hinkledey (15-for-16) had three aces, seven blocks and 10 digs.

SWU travels to Edgerton Thursday and plays Esterville.

Luverne 3, Lennox 2

LENNOX, SD -- The Luverne Cardinals beat Lennox 24-26, 25-13, 25-21, 22-25 and 15-9 in a volleyball match Tuesday.

Erica Deboer lead the team with 29 digs, while going 18-for-18 on the serve for the Cardinals. Ellen Dahl (19-for-19) had five aces, 12 kills and 18 digs with Lexi Rust picking up 14 kills. Ashlinn Curtis had 30 set assists and Amanda Barnhart picked up seven blocks with Jada Hoven four blocks.

Luverne is at home Thursday against Pipestone Area.

CMC 3, TMB 2

PRINSBURG -- The Tracy-Milroy-Balaton Panthers lost to Central Minnesota Christian 27-25, 25-22, 22-25, 20-25 and 12-15 Tuesday in a volleyball match.

Sammie Gervais went 17-for-17 on the serve with 17 kills and Kelli Soupir went 14-for-16 with eight kills and one block for the Panthers. Cassandra Hook went 14-for-14 on the serve with two aces and Jenna Stoneberg went 14-for-14 on the serve with an ace, nine kills and one block. Anna Peterson picked up 23 digs for the Panthers.
