PREP VOLLEYBALL: Westbrook-Walnut Grove earns sweep of Lincoln HI

WESTBROOK -- Chanel Madson was 10-for-10 serving with four aces, had a team-high 11 kills and eight digs, leading the Westbrook-Walnut Grove volleyball team to a sweep of Lincoln HI Tuesday night.

Molly Jarmer was 13-for-14 serving with five aces and 17 digs, while Dayna Comnick and Taylor Elzenga each had five kills.

Maddie Frank added a block and seven digs, while Anne Woelber had a team-high 14 set assists for the Chargers (2-0).

W-WG will travel to Wabasso on Thursday.

Ellsworth 3, Edgerton 0

EDGERTON -- The Ellsworth Panthers had a balanced attack in a non-conference sweep of Edgerton.

Abby Drenth and Emily Timmer each had five kills to lead the Panthers (1-0) in a 25-20, 25-23 and 25-11 victory.

Andrea DeBoer had 11 set assists and 14 digs for Ellsworth, while Becca Sieff and Drenth each had three ace blocks.

At the service line, Drenth was 16-for-16 and scored 11 points, while Bridget Kramer was 17-for-17 with 12 points. She also had 13 digs.

Sieff was 11-for-14 serving with nine points for Ellsworth, which hosts Murray County Central on Tuesday.

Racheal Steffl had nine digs, six ace blocks and three kills to lead Edgerton (0-1). Jessica Menning was 12-for-13 serving with nine points and four aces to go along with seven set assists.

Megan Timmer scored seven points from the line, while Kayla VanGrootheest had five set assists.

Edgerton will travel to Adrian on Thursday.

RRC 3, Wabasso 1

JEFFERS -- Cierra Nickel was 12-for-13 serving with two aces to go along with 13 digs and 32 set assists as Red Rock Central earned a 25-17, 22-25, 25-23 and 25-15 victory.

Klarissa Larsen had a team-best 13 kills and six blocks for the Falcons (1-0).

Alyssa Fredrickson added 10 kills, while Chloe Arfsten had seven kills and a team-high 16 digs.

Alison Kircher was 18-of-19 serving with three aces. She also had 13 digs.

Brooke Rasmussen was 19-for-21 serving with an ace.

RRC will host Springfield today.

H-LP claims second at Okoboji tournament

OKOBOJI, Iowa -- After falling to Spirit Lake 21-12 and 21-9 in the opening-round of the Okoboji tournament, Harris-Lake Park rallied for two straight victories to finish second.

While Spirit Lake went on to win the tournament, H-LP defeated Okoboji 21-12, 23-25, 15-12 and Graettinger-Terril 23-21, 21-12 to finish second.

Christine Larson had 12 kills, eight ace serves and 27 digs to lead the Wolves (2-1).

Lydia Brandt had 11 kills and four blocks for H-LP, while Macy Gunderson had 22 set assists and six ace serves.

The Wolves will cross the border into Minnesota Thursday to face Round Lake-Brewster.

H-BC 3, Luverne 1

HILLS -- Jayme Plimpton had four kills, was 11-for-12 serving with three aces and had eight digs as Hills-Beaver Creek defeated Luverne.

Game scores were 25-19, 16-25, 25-23 and 25-19.

Santana Wysong had a team-best eight kills for H-BC (1-0), while Brooke Tilstra was 16-for-16 serving with four aces and eight digs.

Paige Leuthold was a perfect 10-for-10 serving with four aces while Taylor Vaughn had 17 set assists and Courtney Hoogendoorn added two ace blocks for the Patriots, who will travel to Round Lake-Brewster on Tuesday.

For Luverne (0-2), Gretchen Nowatzki had 14 set assists and was 23-for-28 serving with six aces.

Ashley Dohlmann had a pair of solo blocks, while Katlyn Sawtelle had 11 kills.

Nicole Johnson had a team-high 27 digs, while Amanda Oeltjenbruns added six kills for the Cardinals, who will travel to Southwest Christian on Thursday.

T-M-B 3, Windom 1

TRACY -- Ashley Daniels did just about everything for Tracy-Milroy-Balaton in a win against Windom.

She was 12-for-13 serving with four aces to go along with 13 kills and 12 digs as the Panthers defeated Windom 18-25, 25-19, 25-23 and 25-14.

Kate Johnston was 10-for-11 serving with two aces. She also had 10 kills, two blocks and 14 digs.

Kelli Soupir was 11-for-13 serving with two aces and 17 digs, while Kelsey Hoek had seven kills.

Tiffani Karbo led the way with 32 set assists for T-M-B (1-1), while Lexie Beierman had 11 digs.

For Windom, Courtney Ysker had 16 kills, 12 digs and four ace serves, while Abby Hayenga had 18 set assists and Hali Tasler added 10 digs for Windom.

T-M-B will host Dawson-Boyd Tuesday.

RL-B 3, MLC 0

WINDOM -- Mara Eichenberger had 20 set assists, was a perfect 22-for-22 serving with one ace, to go with three kills and six digs as Round Lake-Brewster earned a sweep of Mountain Lake Christian.

Ceilia Schmitz had seven kills, seven digs and was for 8-for-8 serving.

Olivia Stanton had six kills and an ace block, while Sonja Peters had three ace serves in her first varsity match.

RL-B will host Harris-Lake Park on Thursday.

PA 3, R-T-R 2

TYLER -- Trailing by two games didn't seem to bother Pipestone Area.

Instead, the Arrows rallied for a 20-25, 22-25, 25-8, 25-16, 15-13 victory against Russell-Tyler-Ruthton.

Amanda Haupert was 19-for-21 serving with five aces and 22 digs to lead the Arrows (1-1).

Maggie Perkins was 14-for-16 serving with three aces and 20 set assists, while Cassie Evans had 14 digs.

Emily Darveaux had a team-high 16 kills and Kayla Stout added six for PA, which will play in a tournament in Sioux Falls, S.D. on Saturday.

Minneota 3, MCC 0

MINNEOTA -- Kati Newgard had a tough draw in her first match at the helm of Murray County Central as Minneota earned a 25-14, 25-23, 25-13 sweep.

Makenzie Giese had six kills and 14 digs for the Rebels, while Kristi Bose had three kills.

Brooklyn Schmitz had nine set assists and Elissa Reinsma had a team-high 26 digs to go along with three aces.

Abby Van Meveren had a pair of blocks for MCC, which will travel to Russell-Tyler-Ruthton on Friday.
