SIBLEY, Iowa - The Sibley-Ocheyedan wrestling team continued its strong early-season showing Thursday, beating MOC/Floyd Valley 61-17 and Storm Lake 51-27 in Sibley.
Zak Stanton (120 pounds), Pedro Rodriguez (138), Dylan Schuck (145), Kyle Green (152), Garrett Sayler (160), Trent Kruger (170) and Matt Naig (285) all wrestled twice and won both times.
Sayler was especially sharp, pinning his foes in 38 seconds and 35 seconds.
Elsewhere on the Iowa mats, Central Lyon/George-Little Rock edged Okoboji 41-39 and wrestled West Lyon to 39-39.
Seth Deatsch earned a fall in just 37 seconds over Okoboji’s Trey Fife at 126 pounds while CL/G-LR’s Matt Matuska took just 44 seconds to pin Damion Miller at 195 pounds. Caleb Kramer (132), MitchVan Beek (145) and Treyton Virtue (152) earned falls for CL/G-LR over West Lyon.
