Thursday sports roundup: A/E baseball team tops RRC/W-WG 11-1

A/E 11, RRC/W-WG 1
LAMBERTON — Evan Lenz, Quentin Wolf and Takoby Mack all had two hits as the Adrian/Ellsworth baseball squad defeated Red Rock Conference foe Red Rock Central/Westbrook-Walnut Grove 11-1 in six innings on Thursday.
Lenz drove in three runs and was also the winning pitcher. He went a complete game, allowing three hits and striking out 10.
Dan Kleven took the loss for RRC/W-WG.
Keaton Skarupa went 2-for-3 at the plate for RRC/W-WG.

RRC/W-WG 7, Lakeview 5
LAMBERTON — Red Rock Central/Westbrook-Walnut Grove trimmed Lakeview by two runs.
Ashton Juhnke tripled and drove in three runs for the winners.
Softball
A/E 17, RRC/W-WG 16
ELLSWORTH — Adrian/Ellsworth survived a 9-run seventh inning to hold onto a one-run victory over Red Rock Central/Westbrook-Walnut Grove.
Hilton Heitkamp was 5-for-5 at the plate with five runs and two RBIs for A/E. Teammate Kaysie Lenz was 3-for-5 with four RBIs.
Leah Kruse pitched seven innings and was the winning pitcher.
MCC 7, MLA/C 6
SLAYTON — Zoey Iverson, Thea Schneider and Taylor Larson all had three hits as Murray County Central edged Mountain Lake Area/Comfrey. The Rebels scored twice in the bottom of the seventh inning to win.
Golf
HL-O/F-W-WG at RRC
SANBORN — Carter Drent carded a 50 and brother Sawyer Drent shot a 51 as Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda-Westbrook-Walnut Grove's boys team defeated Red Rock Central 216-230.
Gavin Willardson led RRC with a 51.
Ellyson Bang shot a 46 for the HL-O/F-W-WG girls, who totaled 222 strokes. RRC was incomplete.
