Luverne splits in Marshall softball tourney

MARSHALL — Carly Olson collected three hits with a home run and four RBIs Saturday as the Luverne High School softball team defeated Russell-Tyler-Ruthton 13-0 in the Marshall Tournament.
In their first game of the tourney, the Cardinals lost to Marshall 3-1.
Luverne had just five hits against the Tigers, and none of the LHS players had more than one hit. Amira Cowell had the only Luverne RBI.
But in the R-T-R game, Luverne had 15 hits. Payton Behr added three hits of her own to the attack.
Gracie Nath pitched both games for Luverne.
