
Seedings for the upcoming Section 3A boys hockey school hockey tournament will have the Worthington Trojans opening quarterfinal action on Thursday against the Luverne Cardinals. Worthington is the No. 6 seed and Luverne is the No. 3 seed. The game will begin at 7 p.m.
Play-in games are Tuesday as Fairmont (8) plays Minnesota River (9) at the Martin County Arena and Mankato West (7) plays Redwood Valley (10) at Mankato.
In other quarterfinal games Thursday, top-seeded New Ulm hosts the winner of Fairmont-Minnesota River, Marshall (4) hosts Windom Area (5) and Mankato East (2) hosts Mankato West or Redwood Valley.
Semifinals are Feb. 26 and the finals are March 2.
Winona Cotter defeated the Worthington boys team 4-3 on Saturday in Winona, one day after the same two teams competed against each other and Worthington won, 5-4.
Levi Kuhl, Blake Ahrenstorff and Blake Luinenburg had the Trojans’ goals.
The result ended Worthington’s regular season record at 12-13.
