BOYS BASKETBALL Worthington 80, St. James Area 64 SAINT PETER -- Looking more and more like the team they were hoping to be, the 2017-18 Worthington Trojans boys basketball team rolled past St. James Area 80-64 Saturday in the Big South Conference Showcase.

Tyler Linder scored a game-high 31 points and had 17 rebounds -- including eight on the offensive end -- as the Trojans went inside to beat the Saints. The defense played well, too.

“After we had the hiccup against Windom (in the season-opener), the defensive intensity has really picked up. We’re playing the way we want to play defensively,” said head coach Clint Meyer.

Gavin Calmus and Terbuto Ochothow each scored 11 points for the Trojans and Logan Huisman scored nine. OD Othow and Ochothow had six and five assists, respectively.

As a team, Worthington (2-2) had 24 assists.
