ADRIAN - Senior center Isaiah Bartels scored 22 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to lead Luverne to a victory over Adrian/Ellsworth.
Freshman guard Gannon Arendt had 17 points and five steals, and junior guard Bailey Cowell added 16 points for the Cardinals. Senior guard Nick Feit scored 14.
For Adrian/Ellsworth, sophomore guard Peyton Lewis had 19 points and seven rebounds. Senior guard Noah Reyne had 12 points and nine rebounds, and senior guard Ian Starner scored 12 points.

HILLS - Junior guard Taryn Rauk scored 16 points as host Hills-Beaver Creek improved to 5-0.

Junior forward Abby Knobloch had 15 points and six rebounds for the Patriots, while sophomore guard Kenadie Fick had 11 points and three steals.
For West Lyon, Kennedy Kramer, Emma Meyer and Gianna Klarenbeek each scored 10.

Big South Showcase
JACKSON -- The Big South Conference partied at Jackson County Central High School on Saturday for the conference Showcase event.
Worthington beat Blue Earth Area by a 64-26 margin. Luverne was a 49-45 winner over Fairmont, Pipestone Area knocked off St. James Area 37-20, Jackson County Central beat New Ulm 86-71, Southwest Christian topped Windom Area 80-76, and Waseca beat Redwood Valley 52-25.
Sadie Voss scored 26 points for JCC, and teammate Alaina Voss added 20. Maci Farmer and Regan Farmer both scored 11 as JCC improved to 3-0.
Jazlynn Prins scored 23 points for Southwest Christian. Maren Nerem scored 20 points and pulled down 16 rebounds. Ella Veldkamp had 15 points and four steals. For Winodm Area, Allison Letcher scored 20 points while Shelby Erickson had 18 and Reegan Elder 13. Delaney Smith had 11 rebounds.
Wrestling
Glencoe Tournament
GLENCOE -- Kade Sammons (138 pounds) and Alex Altman (220) won individual championships for the Windom/Mountain Lake high school wrestling team at the Don Hall Invitational Tournament in Glencoe.
Sammons won one match by fall and two matches by technical fall. Altman received a bye, then won by injury defaut in his next match before winning the crown with a fall in 5:29.

Trenton Renquist placed second at 145 pounds and Eli Mutz was second at 285 for M/ML.
Windom/Mountain Lake placed fifth in the team standings among the 10 teams entered.

Luverne, MRiver win
Luverne defeated Waseca 4-1 and Minnesota River beat Windom Area 6-2 in area hockey games played Saturday.
Kyle Espenson scored both of Windom Area’s goals.

Luverne 9, Waseca 0
LUVERNE -- Mallory Nelson, Billi Connell and Reghan Bork each scored two goals as the Luverne Cardinals shut out Waseca.
Morgan Ahrendt, Regan Feit and Rylee Gee also scored for the Cardinals.
In another area contest, Minnesota River outskated Windom Area 7-3.
