MOUNTAIN LAKE - Nicollet scored three times in the top of the seventh inning and defeated Mountain Lake Area 3-0 in the second round of the Section 2A softball tournament Thursday.
The Wolverines had just four hits - two by Riley Tollafson, who doubled.
Signey Stoesz pitched for MLA. She went the full seven innings and allowed only three hits while walking one and striking out 10.
None of the three runs she allowed were earned.
Nicollet is the tournament’s No. 5 seed. MLA, the fourth seed, will continue in the tournament Saturday.
