WINDOM -- Windom Area stayed alive Tuesday night in the Section 3A boys hockey tournament, shutting out the Worthington Trojans by a 3-0 score.
WAHS, the seventh-seed in the tournament, will play second-seeded Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato Thursday in the quarterfinals. Other quarterfinal games will have top-seeded Luverne hosting Willmar, Hutchinson hosting New ulm and Marshall hosting Redwood Valley.
In the other play-in game Tuesday, Willmar defeated Fairmont 7-2.
Eli Becker, Austin Fredin and Alex Espenson scored for the Eagles against the Trojans. Espenson, Becker and Matt Stubbe were credited with assists.
Windom Area out-shot Worthington 64-11.
