Section 3A south girls basketball: Hills-Beaver Creek upsets Edgerton

Fick and Van Roekel combined to score 47 out of the Patriots’ 54 points. Individually, Fick poured in 26 points (four three-pointers) and Van Roekel dropped 21.
H-BC outscored Edgerton 24-12 in the second half.
The Flying Dutchmen were led by Tanner Gunnink, who bucketed 13 points. Mia Wassink added 11 points.
Edgerton ends the year with a 12-12 record.

Wabasso 55, Adrian 26
WORTHINGTON - Stifling defense and excellent ball movement propelled No. 2 Wabasso past No. 7 Adrian by a score of 55-26 on Saturday afternoon in Worthington.
Becky Franta paced Wabasso with 18 points, six steals, and four assists. Morgan Frank contributed 16 counters, 11 rebounds, and five steals. As a team, the Rabbits totaled 36 rebounds, 20 steals, and 16 assists. They held Adrian to only nine first-half points.
Although Dragon Elizabeth Thier went down early with a knee injury, she returned midway through the second half to lead her squad with 12 points.
“We were really patient on offense, which was the key,” said Wabasso head coach Neil Dolan. “We also forced a lot of turnovers that turned into easy buckets.”
Adrian ends the season with a 7-19 record.
