Soccer Extravaganza in Worthington Saturday

WORTHINGTON -  The Worthington Area YMCA will host a Soccer Extravaganza from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Prairie Elementary and Buss Field.

Youth soccer games for kindergarteners through sixth-graders will take place from 9 a.m. to noon at Prairie Elementary. A Worthington Optimist Club skills competition will begin at 1 p.m. at Buss Field, and door prizes will also be awarded.

A series of games will also begin at 1 pm. At Buss Field with the following schedule: 1 p.m., under 13 boys vs. Mountain Lake and under 18 girls vs. Shakopee; and 3 p.m., under 15 boys vs. Mountain Lake and under 18 boys vs. Eden Prairie. Worthington Football Club raffle announcements will take place at 2:30 p.m.

The Worthington Soccer Club Board of Directors will also be hosting a hog roast, with food served starting at 11 a.m. at Buss Field. All proceeds will go to support Worthington Youth Soccer.
