MCC 13, Adrian/Ellsworth 3

ELLSWORTH -- Murray County Central scored five runs in the third inning and seven in the sixth en route to a 13-3 victory over host Adrian/Ellsworth in girls high school softball on Thursday.

Sophie Larson was 2-for-3 with two runs and three RBIs, with a triple. Jayde Hellewell was 2-for-3 with a triple and three RBIs, and Zoe Iverson was 2-foro-4 with three runs and two RBIs.

Ema Johnson was the winning pitcher, allowing three hits and striking out six. Leah Kruse took the loss.


At the plate, Adrian/Ellsworth was led by Isabelle Thier with a double and Shawna Rogers, who also had a hit and scored a run.

E/SWC 12, MLA/C 1

EDGERTON -- Makenna Moss had two hits and four runs batted in as Edgerton/Southwest Christian downed Mountain Lake Area/Comfrey 12-1. E/SWC scored seven first inning runs and added five in the second in the five-inning game.

Addison Fleischman threw a complete game, striking out seven.

Luverne 13, Redwood Valley 2

LUVERNE -- Billi Connell went 2-for-3 and drove in three runs, and Roz Oye drove in a pair of runs as Luverne defeated Big South Conference foe Redwood Valley.

Luverne scored five times in the second inning, twice in the third and six times in the fourth to put the game away.
