Prep softball: Pipestone Area pounds Marshall in doubleheader

PIPESTONE -- Shelby Bloemendaal and Adrianna Johnson dominated in the pitching circle and the Pipestone Area Arrows won both ends of a high school softball doubleheader Tuesday, 13-1 and 11-0, over visiting Marshall.

In the first game, Bloemendaal checked the Tigers on four hits over four innings, walking three and striking out seven. In the second game, Johnson walked one and struck out one while allowing just three hits over five frames.

Bloemendaal went 3-for-4 at the plate in the first game and Makayla Shriver was 2-for-2. Mandi Miller and Kaitlyn Draper each hit a home run.

In the second game, Morgyn Carson and Paige Ahrendt were both 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs.

Pipestone Area is ranked No. 3 in Minnesota Class AA.
