Southwest Conference announces All-Conference selections in wrestling, hockey and gymnastics

WORTHINGTON -- The All-Conference teams were recently selected for the Southwest Conference in wrestling, boys' hockey, girls' hockey and gymnastics with area athletes selected for each team.

Wrestling

Drake Borsgard (103 pounds) led six Windom/Mountain Lake/Butterfield-Odin selections, while John Bush (Pipestone Area) was also selected at 103 pounds.

Jackson County Central's Spencer Johnson was selected at 112 pounds, while Derek Petersen (Luverne) was an All-Conference selection at 119 pounds.

JCC's Taylor Menke and W/ML/B-O's Josh Falk were selected at 125 pounds, while Sam Fischenich (W/ML/B-O) and Cooper Moore (JCC) were All-Conference selections at 130 pounds.

State champion Cole Von Ohlen was selected All-Conference at 135 from JCC, while Billy Hochstien (W/ML/B-O) joined Von Ohlen at 135 pounds.

Jessie Regalado (140) was one of two Worthington wrestlers selected to the team, while Torey Stewart (JCC) and A.J. Stevens were All-Conference at 145 pounds.

W/ML/B-O's Spencer Johnson and JCC's Jacob Johnson were the selections at 152, while Devin Bezdicek (JCC) was selected at 160.

State champions Travis Rutt (171) and Caleb Lines (189) were each selected from JCC, while Sam Dooyema (Luverne) and Joe Skow (JCC) were named All-Conference at 215 pounds.

Jordan Schroeder (Worthington) and Travis Plahn (Pipestone Area) were selected at heavyweight.

Boys' hockey

After a second-place finish in the conference, the Windom Eagles had three players selected to the Southwest Conference team.

Jason Cook, Nick Eisenmenger and Brandon Fast were all selected from the Eagles. Trevor Hage was named honorable mention.

Luverne had two selections, with Phil Paquette and Anthony Graphenteen named All-Conference. Adam Ossefoort was named an honorable mention.

Tim Roos was the lone Worthington player named to the All-Conference team, while Mitch Jensen and Jake Smith were each named honorable mention.

Girls' hockey

With a second-place finish behind Marshall, the Luverne Cardinals placed four players on the All-Conference team.

Natalie Morgan, Stephanie Steensma, Kat Dahl and Mikki Fitzer were each named to the All-Conference team, while Paige Olson and Liz Solma were both honorable mention for the Cardinals.

Sara Luhmann and Brooklyn Drahota were selected from Windom, while Taylor Baumhoefner was selected from Worthington.

Worthington's Angela Bui was named an honorable mention.

Gymnastics

With a first-place finish, Jackson County Central placed four members on the All-Conference team.

Briel Hendrickson, Courtney Donnelli, Brandi Sether-Hassing and Sydnee Donnelli were each named to the All-Conference team. Tailyr Hansen and Adriane Rentschler were named honorable mention.

Taylor Erwin was named All-Conference from Worthington, while Lynn Harberts was selected as an honorable mention.

Courtney Fodness (Luverne) and Amber Haupert (Pipestone Area) were each named All-Conference from their respective schools, while Courtnie Evans (PA) was an honorable mention.
