The Jackson County Central Huskies, winners of the Section 3AA boys basketball tournament, will open state tournament competition Wednesday against Caledonia.
Caledonia (28-2), the No. 2 seed in the Class AA field, drew the 23-5 Huskies for a 6 p.m. quarterfinal game at Williams Arena on the campus of the University of Minnesota.
Central Minnesota Christian, which defeated Murray County Central for the Section 3A crown, opens in the Class A state tourney against Mountain Iron-Buhl at 3 p.m. Thursday at Williams Arena.
Waseca, which defeated Marshall in a thrilling four-overtime game for the Section 2AAA title, opens Class AAA play at 4 p.m. Wednesday against Fergus Falls at Williams Arena.
