ST. PAUL – Three Jackson County Central wrestlers won individual championships on Saturday at the Class A State meet.
Nolan Ambrose won the 132 title for the Huskies by defeating Alex Diedrich by 3-0 decision. Diedrich from Royalton-Upsala was the top-seeded wrestler in the weight class.
Thomas Freking won his championship match at 138 by defeating Colby Tappe from Staples Motley with a 4-3 decision.
Caleb Vancura defeated Ethan Boll from Crookston by 11-5 decision for the championship at 220.
Cameron Scholten took second place for JCC as he lost his final match against Keegan Kuball from Waterville-Elysian-Morristown/Jaynesville-Waldorf-Pemberton by 9-4 decision in the 285 weight class.

Also placing for the Huskies were Logan Butzon placing third at 145, Matt Haley placed third at 195, and Isaac Rodriguez placed sixth at 152.
Dylan Withers who qualified for the state meet at 170 for JCC was unable to compete after suffering an injury at the team competition.
Devin Carter who wrestles for Tracy-Milroy-Balaton/Westbrook-Walnut Grove won the Class A title at 126.
Other area wrestlers who placed at the state meet were Miklo Hernandez from Pipestone Area placed second at 106, Cameron Wieneke from Adrian/Ellsworth who took fourth at 285, DJ Rock from Luverne took fifth at 160, Sam Rock placed fifth at 170.
Preston Xayachak took sixth place at 106 for Windom-Mountain Lake in the Class AA meet.
Two Luverne wrestlers competed in the girls competition. Bernie Rock placed second at 114, and Cece Rock took fourth place at 138.
