Stingrays compete in Spirit Lake

SPIRIT LAKE, Iowa -- Five relays finished first at the Spirit Lake Meet last weekend for the Worthington YMCA Stingray swim team.

Ben Doeden, Dillon Pedersen, Tim Skog and Adrian Manzo finished first in the 200-meter medley in the boys' 13-14 year old division in 2:35.37.

Gordy Moore, Matt Sorensen, Dave Sorensen and Evan Gerren won the boys' 12 and over 200-meter medley in 2:24.25.

Gerren, Eli Gaul, Levi Blanchard and Cameron Jenson won the boys' 11-12 year old 200-free relay in 2:41.59.

Alex Baustian, Bryan doeden, Hans Baumgarn and Gideon Baumgarn finished third in 3:51.62 in the same division.

Justin Paulzine, Pedersen, Doeden and Skog won the boys' 13-14 200 free in 2:24.40, while Matt Sorensen, Moore, Oliver Wolyniec and Dave Sorensen won the boys' 12 and over 200 free in 2:05.13.

In the boys' 11-12 200 medley, Liam Gerren, Wolyniec, Jenson and Bryan Doeden finished second in 2:53.50. Alex Baustian, Porter Elsing, Gaul and Gideon Baumgarn finished third in 4:00.05.

In the girls' 11-12 200 medley, Candice Baustian, Meredith Moore, Madison Neuberger and Kendra Volk finished fourth in 3:33.88.

Elsing, Kyle Janssen, Anwar Farra and Liam Gerren finished fourth in the boys' 9-10 200 free.

In the girls' 11-12 200 free, Candice Baustian, Meredith Moore, Volk and Neuberger finished fifth in 3:30.08.

Individually, Alexis Baumgarn finished eighth in the girls' 8 and under 50 free in 1:15.81.

Anja Baumgarn was fourth in the girls' 12 and over 50 fly (53.68) and the 100 free (1:44.59). She was also eighth in the 50 free in 46.97.

Hans Baumgarn was fourth in the boys' 11-12 50 fly in 1:21.22.

Melise Baumgarn was fourth in the girls' 9-10 100 free in 1:45.65.

Alex Baustian was third in the boys' 11-12 50 back in 44.87 and eighth in the 50 breast in 56.37.

Kaitlyn Baustian was fifth in the girls' 9-10 100 back in 2:24.32, and seventh in the 100 free in 2:23.13.

Amanda Bierma was third in both the girls' 12 and over 50 fly (48.13) and the 100 free (1:29.120). She was also seventh in the 50 free in 39.48.

Levi Blanchard was second in the boys' 11-12 100 breast in 1:58.56. He was also sixth in the 50 back (51.53) and seventh in the 50 breast.

Ben Doeden was second in both the boys' 12 and over 50 back (43.66) and 50 breast (48.28). He was also fourth in the 50 free (40.97).

Bryan Doeden was fifth in the boys' 11-12 50 back in 48.00.

Elsing was seventh in the boys' 9-10 50 breast (1:00.53) and eighth in both the 50 free (42.22) and 50 back (54.44).

Farra was third in the boys' 8 and under 25 breast (30.78) and seventh in the boys' 8 and under 25 free (24.54).

Gaul was second in the boys' 11-12 100 free in 1:29.57, third in the 50 fly in 53.43 and ninth in the 50 free in 37.97.

Evan Gerren earned a pair of fourth-place finishes (50 back in 45.25 and 50 breast in 46.25) and was fifth in the 50 free in 34.04 in the boys' 11-12 division.

Liam Gerren was sixth in the 50 back (52.28), seventh in the 50 free (41.75) and eighth in the 50 breast (1:02.06) in the boys' 9-10 division.

Kyle Janssen was third in the boys' 9-10 100 free (1:44.84), ninth in the 50 breast (1:05.18) and 10th in the 50 free (43.71).

Sarah Janssen was third in the girls' 13-14 100 free in 1:11.03.

Cameron Jensen was second in the boys' 11-12 50 fly (41.43), fifth in the 50 breast (48.38) and sixth in the 50 free in 34.34.

Hailey McNab was third in the girls' 8 and under 25 back in 24.72, 25 free in 21.72 and seventh in the 25 breast in 32.03.

Gordy Moore was first in the boys' 12 and over 100 back (1:27.16), second in the 100 breast (1:39.0) and fourth in the 50 free (31.29).

Meredith Moore was fifth in the girls' 11-12 50 breast in 47.88.

Neuberger was first in the girls' 11-12 100 breast in 1:40.25, second in the 50 breast in 44.94, and fifth in the 50 free in 34.81.

Paulzine was first in the boys' 11-12 100 free in 1:28.59, seventh in the 50 back in 53.09 and 10th in the 50 free in 38.50.

Pedersen was first in the 100 breast in 1:31.19 in the boys' 13-14 division. He was also third in the 50 free (34.05) and fourth in the 100 free (1:19.66).

Sydney Pronto (girls' 8 and under) was seventh in both the 25 free (24.53) and 50 free (55.97).

Tim Skog earned a trio of first-place finishes. He won the boys' 13-14 50 free (26.53), 100 free (1:03.19) and 100 back (1:21.97).

Dave Sorensen also earned three first-place finishes. He won the boys' 12 and over 50 fly (30.28), 50 free (25.69) and 100 free (59.34).

Matt Sorensen was first in the 100 breast (1:33.28), 100 individual medley (1:28.56) and third in the 50 free (30.38) in the boys' 12 and over division.

Volk was third in the girls' 11-12 100 breast (2:30.82) and fourth in the 100 back (2:14.37).

Wolyniec was first in the boys' 11-12 100 IM (1;27.32), second in the 50 free (32.09) and third in the 50 breast (42.84).

The Stingrays will travel to Spencer, Iowa today.
