EDGERTON -- Led by a trio of perfect nights serving, the Ellsworth Panthers earned their first Red Rock Conference victory with a sweep over Edgerton.


Game scores were 25-22, 25-21 and 25-18.

Kallie Chapa was a perfect 15-for-15 serving. She added 10 digs and six kills. Claire Popkes was 14-for-14 serving with an ace. Morgan Dreesen was 12 for 12 from the service line. She had a team-best 20 digs.

The Panthers host Hills-Beaver Creek Tuesday.

Adrian 3, MLA 0

ADRIAN -- Adrian continues to dominate its 2019 season, earning another Red Rock Conference victory over Mountain Lake Area.

Game scores were 25-13, 25-16, 25-17.

Shawna Tweet went 23-of-23 serving with an ace, Marissa Lehnhoff went 14-of-15 with two aces, and Kasie Tweet went 14-of-15 with two aces for the Dragons. Mayssa Tweet led the Dragons in digs with 20, Kasie Tweet had 13 digs, Jayden Zebe had nine digs, Lehnhoff had eight digs, and Shawna Rogers had seven digs.


Bailey Lonneman and Marissa Lehnhoff and Kendra Frodermann led Adrian in kills with 12, while Julia Bullerman had eight kills.

Luverne 3, St. James 1

ST. JAMES -- Luverne improves to 9-9 after its four-set victory over Big South Conference opponent St. James.

Scores were 25-18, 21-25, 25-19, 25-13.

Mallory Thorson had a team high 14 blocks for the Cardinals, while Grace Zewiske had nine blocks and six kills. Zewiske went 18-of-20 serving with two aces and Tacey Baustian went 18-of-18 serving with 25 set assists. Elise Ferrell had nine kills and 19 digs, while Alyssa Nattress had 14 digs for the Cardinals.

Luverne will play next Tuesday in Jackson in another Big South Conference matchup.


HL-O/F 3, WWG 1

WESTBROOK -- Heron Lake Okabena/Fulda overcame an early game loss to beat Westbrook-Walnut Grove in a Red Rock Conference matchup.

Game scores were 24-26, 26-24, 25-4, 25-12.

Samantha Untiedt went 20-of-22 serving with two aces, and Grace Kilian went 21-of-22 with three aces for the Coyotes.

Madison Ruesch had eight blocks for HL-O/F, and Hailey Liepold had seven blocks and 22 kills. Ellie Bang had 10 kills and 33 set assists, while Meakin Bang had eight kills.

Kelly Berglund went 14-of-14 serving and Alli Vanderkieft went 12-of-12 serving with two aces and two blocks for the Chargers. Madison Dennistoun had 11 kills, Emmal Wahl had five kills and 23 digs, and Halle Steen had 23 set assists.

MCC 3, SWC 2

SLAYTON -- Southwest Christian took Murray County Central to five games but was unable to earn the victory as the Rebels took the victory.

Game scores were 25-20, 20-25, 17-25, 25-23, 16-14.

Emily Rohrer had 11 kills for the Rebels, Bryn Hoekman had 20 kills, and Shelby Christensen had eight kills. Christensen led the team in digs with 18, and Brynn Graphenteen went 28-of-28 serving with an ace.
